Breaking Cycles - Called to Community

Breaking Cycles Called to Community Written by: Chibunkem Ahanonu Cycles. A series of events that are regularly repeated in the same order. Cycles. A word derived from the Greek word kuklos , meaning circle. Cycles. The enemy's tactic to keep you trapped in complacency, confusion, and dysfunction See, cycles are things we have experienced or witnessed throughout our lives. Cycles of unhealed children cloaked with adult bodies, inflicting a replication of their hurt on the generations to come. Cycles of people pursuing money at the expense of their peace of mind. Cycles of too many voices silenced by depression only to be remembered in obituaries and "gone too soon" posts on IG. Cycles of hate. Cycles of pain. Cycles of confusion. Cycles, the trap of the enemy to make you operate from the perspective of your weaknesses until you spiral. If we take a look inward, we might see a version of a cycle within. Maybe surrounding a familial expectation that seems to rob you of yo...

What Is My Title?

What Is My Title? - Called to Community - Written by Zion Clark & Chibunkem Ahanonu What is my title? This question is not as simple as it seems. Our lives are not like books where we can know the title by looking at what's written on the cover. But let me slow down a little. Before deep diving into what titles are, let's reflect on the ideas in our previous post, "Who am I in Christ?".  When it comes to our identity in Christ, we discussed that it's determined by what we carry on the inside. Matthew 5:13-16 talks about our saltiness as servants, our brightness as believers, and our impact as intercessors. See, when God refers to us as salt, He is not talking about the way we taste, or us being petty aka salty lol. He's referring to the impact we make in any situation we are placed in. In other words, God's impact on us should be evident in the way we impact those around us. And just as salt's functionality isn't limited to its culinary impac...

Who Has God Called Me to Be?

Who Am I In Christ? Matthew 5:13-16 is who God says you are: - Called to Community: Go Ye Into the World  - Written by Zion Clark It's not that God qualified you for the assignment, He qualified the assignment for you.  Now, you may be wondering...what the heck does that even mean?  It means that God did not create you to fit a specific mold, He created the mold to fit you. He formed you so that He could formulate a plan FOR you.  How do I know this?  Because in Genesis 1:26 God declares, “let us make human beings in our image, to be like us” (NLT).   God created you to be like Him, think like Him, and fulfill purpose as He intended. This is not to puff your ego, but to return glory to the Father. If God created the trees to produce fruit, the animals to serve as sustenance, and the sky to be a pillar that separates heaven from earth, then how much more did He create you for? Let's read exactly who God says we are in Matthew 5:13, "You are the salt of the ...

God is a Clear and Direct Instructor

God is a Clear and Direct Instructor Go Ye Into The World - Called To Community Written By: Chibunkem Ahanonu ~ Anchor Verse ~ "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the World, and preach the Gospel to every creature"  - Mark 16:15 We know of God as many different things. A father, a friend, a provider, a sustainer, and so much more. Each character being backed up by his track record of excellence. Today I would like us to focus on his character as a  Clear and Direct Instructor  and the position we hold in relation to him. First off, what is an instructor?  When thinking on the term "instructor" I am reminded of my 1st-grade teacher, Mrs. Moran, whose number of years in wisdom could almost be accounted for by the amount of wrinkles on her face. I remember her raspy yet welcoming voice and the way her little sassy remarks would make me giggle. I even remember getting corrected when I did something wrong but even now I can remember the warmth and security I ...
